I love listening to my friends complaining about how hungry they are — after they’ve eaten breakfast, and lunch and a snack, or several. Munching between giant meals. Indulging on days that don’t deserve the added interest.
As they’re talking, they stop and look at me sipping my green tea, and whisper, “you have such self control.” And, “you eat such tiny portions.” Thinking that after my 80 calorie meal of lentil soup, that i go home and have dinner (obviously) because that’s why normal people do right?
There’s a strange sense of superiority knowing I don’t have to eat like them. And recognizing the hunger I have, but being able to ignore it completely.
*eats under 500 cal per day for a week*

me: damn it was that weight loss fairy wasn’t it
me: i love autumn. crunchy leaves, cozy scarfs, the mist in the morning, lots of tea, chunky boots, pumpkins, enjoying nature by taking long walks, jumpers, red, brown, and orange, getting comfy under the blankets and watching movies with friends, bonfires.,.
also me: never leaves the house
a piece of advice my dad gave me and I’ve never forgotten is, “if you won’t worry about it in 4 months, don’t worry about it now.” saved me countless times, it’s a philosophy to adopt and help improve your life. Failed a test? ask yourself if you’ll think about this still in 4 months? Made a fool of yourself in public? I doubt even the people who saw it will remember it past today. Know you could have done better? Ran further? don’t beat yourself up over it, you can do better tomorrow. Don’t overthink things, a lot of negatives matter less than you think they do.
